Boomer Camp Here I come

OK, tomorrow I start Boomer Bootcamp. It is an intense workout program to get my out of shape bod into shape. So, here I am 60 years old and ready to start an having someone direct me how to work out. My body is scared. Two days a week! Doesn't help that I fell off my bike today - again!
OK I will post again tomorrow.

  1. Awesome. I am doing my own version of Boomer Bootcamp along with you. Today I rode my bike to do errands and to get to my office. (I didn't fall off, but I did walk it down the hill). Looking forward to hearing more.

  2. Go Judith! Good for you -- and good for your bod.

I haven't been on a bike in... wow. I don't remember the last time I rode a bike. You're giving me ideas!

  3. The best thing about these "bootcamps" are the automatic support systems built in! Support systems help you do things you could not do on your own.

    Congrats...

  4. Good luck! I also went through a fitness bootcamp back in February of last year but it just wasn't right for me. It was too grueling even though they claimed that it was for all levels - Yeah, right!

So I've just focused on walking, swimming, and strength training on my own.

I'm ready to check out another bootcamp in the area and see if it's a better fit because I agree with Dave that the support systems are key!

  5. Good for you! However, exercise isn't the fountain of youth.
Taking on new sports or challenges can give long-used muscles a break while feeding the desire for new goals, says Marjorie Albohm, president of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, who at 58 has become a recent devotee of spinning. "As you age, you have to be flexible about new activities.
